To get started with your Trezor device, follow these steps outlined on the Trezor.io/start page:
Unbox Your Trezor:
Ensure your package is intact and the holographic seal is not tampered with.
Inside the package, you should find the Trezor device, USB cable, recovery seed cards, and instruction manual.
Connect Your Trezor Device:
Use the USB cable to connect your Trezor device to your computer.
Install Trezor Bridge:
Visit the Trezor Wallet page.
If prompted, download and install Trezor Bridge. This software allows communication between your Trezor device and your computer.
Initialize Your Trezor Device:
Open the Trezor Wallet interface in your browser.
Follow the on-screen instructions to initialize your Trezor device.
Create a new wallet and set a strong PIN code.
Backup Your Recovery Seed:
During setup, your Trezor device will display a 24-word recovery seed.
Write down each word in order on the recovery seed cards provided.
Store the recovery seed cards in a secure location. Do not share or store them digitally.
Accessing Your Trezor Wallet:
After initialization, you can access your wallet by connecting your Trezor device and entering your PIN code.
Sending and Receiving Cryptocurrency:
To Send: Select the cryptocurrency you want to send, enter the recipient's address, amount, and confirm the transaction on your Trezor device.
To Receive: Select the cryptocurrency, click "Receive", copy your wallet address, and share it with the sender.
Managing Accounts:
Add multiple accounts for different cryptocurrencies by selecting "Add account" and choosing the desired cryptocurrency.
Security Features:
Enable a passphrase for an additional layer of security.
Regularly check for and install firmware updates.
MetaMask:
Open MetaMask and click on the account icon.
Select "Connect Hardware Wallet" and choose Trezor.
Follow the prompts to connect your Trezor device.
Other Wallets and dApps:
Look for options to connect a hardware wallet and follow the integration steps for your specific service.
Connection Issues: Ensure Trezor Bridge is running and try reconnecting your device. Restart your computer if necessary.
